Dear Abby,

Today while Eli was at Tommy’s house, Lisa and I had a girls’ day. It was wonderful. I took her to the salon in town, and we got our nails and hair done. I got a trim, but the stylist added some purple streaks into Lisa’s hair, and she’s been smiling about it ever since. It was the first thing she showed off when Eli got home, and now he wants blue in his. Lisa is such a little girly girl, I love it. She only wants to wear dresses, is constantly trying to sneak into my makeup, and is always carrying some sort of little purse. It’s cute now, but it makes me worry for when she’s a teenager. Her teacher said she was in tears the other day because she spilled paint on her dress. Little diva in the making. She and Eli are such opposites, yet the best of friends. Kind of like how we were. I miss you so much. I think if you were still here, I wouldn’t be in the mess that I’m in. You were what tethered me to the ground when my demons started to rear their ugly heads, and they’ve been out of control ever since.
